As a volunteer-run organization, our success depends on the engagement of our members. Here are some ways you can get involved!

Join a committee! We have several working committees that are always open to all members.

Education – Plans and organizes our bi-monthly educational sessions and other learning tools for medical administrators.
Communications – Manages and designs outreach to potential and current members. Join this committee to help with newsletters, social media, outreach, and recruitment.
Conference Planning – Designs and coordinates the annual conference.

2024 NSAMA Award Recipients

At the 2024 NSAMA Annual Conference in April, these recipients were announced for the following awards:

The Distinguished Medical Education Administrator Award (DMEA) for medical education administrators in their role for a minimum of 3 years, as well as the Distinguished New Medical Education Administrator Award (DNMEA) for medical education administrators in their role for under 3 years.

The Distinguished Medical Education Administrator Awards acknowledge the extraordinary contributions made by a medical administrator towards fulfilling the goals and mission of their organization and colleagues.

Recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Medical Education Administrator Award (DMEA)

Kimberly King, C-TAGME

Kimberly has over 14 years of GME experience, were she worked in PM&R and Anesthesia, and is currently at UT Southwestern in IM with the Hematology-Oncology and Advanced Breast Cancer Research programs.

She chairs the PCAC Wellness Committee and is a member of the UTSW Resident Wellness and Well-Being Committee.

In July 2024, she will sit on the AIM Program Administrators Advisory Council.

Recipient of the 2024 Distinguished New Medical Education Administrator Award (DNMEA)

Beena GopalKrishnan

Beena is the Radiology Program Administrator at UMass Chan Medical School and has overseen 3 Residencies, 4 Fellowships, and 3 NST programs.

She successfully managed 2 Site Visits during her first year and applied for and obtained ACGME accreditation for 2 new programs.

She continues to volunteer and give back with UMass and local organizations.

Recipient of the 2024 NSAMA Dubois Excellence in Leadership & Service Award

Julie Beckerdite, MBA

The final award, of great distinction, is the NSAMA Dubois Excellence in Leadership & Service Award.

With over 15 years of experience, holding every position on the NSAMA Board of Directors and also stepping-up as the 2023 Treasurer, Julie Beckerdite, MBA, is the 2024 recipient of the NSAMA Dubois Excellence in Leadership & Service Award. Julie has also co-developed and directed 2 training courses for NSAMA and continues to provide longitudinal leadership for our organization!
